A.W.A.P. Book Test (Any Word Any Page)
This is a great effect for a truly impromptu book test using only 1 book, spectator and performer. There are no other gaffs or props used. The decription is completely true, however it does tend to give the feeling that they just open the book, pick out a word and after a few moments you tell them what they are thinking. This isn't completely correct. It gives the impression, to me, that you don't go near the spectator or the book while they are choosing the word, but you do. They do have a completely free choice of page and word, but you help them a bit and you do handle the book during the selection process. To be fair, it is an ingenious method and all the spectator is going to remember is that they chose a book and a word from thousands and you amazingly read their mind. If you are looking for a simple, 1 book, any page, any word test that is fairly straightforward then this is the best I have come across. Especially for the $$. Just keep in mind that it is not real mind reading.
