A United States quarter and an English half penny are given to an assistant to hold behind his back.
The magician then bets that he can remove one of the coins magically from the assistant's hands.  The assistant feels the two coins in his hands and thinks that it cannot be done.
The magician wins the bet and the assistant is amazed when he opens his hand and sees a nickel instead of the quarter.
