EFFECT: A locked chest hangs in full view. At any time during your act, audience members are asked to call out anything they wish: numbers, cities, foods, names, etc.

No forces are employed – these are completely free choices!

Their selections are then written on a board, where they remain in full view. You explain that inside the chest is a sealed time capsule, containing a prediction. Opening the chest, you remove a large, clear-plastic container (approximately 9” long and 4” in diameter). Visibly sealed inside is an envelope (also sealed). Pour in a freely selected card, mix in a vanish, add a splash of transformation topped off with a unique revelation. Blend together with a twist of humor and you've got CARD COCKTAIL!

You present a deck of cards showing them to be different and ask a spectator to make a free selection. They choose a card then return it to the deck. You shuffle the deck. Then decide there is a faster way to mix the cards as you reach for your cocktail shaker. Open it up and dump the cards into the shaker! Then swing baby! Shake. Shake. Shake. Grab your martini glass and pour the liquefied cards out of the cocktail shaker into the martini glass. Open up the cocktail shaker and reveal that it's empty! Effect: Borrow a bill from an audience member. Have him sign his name across the face of the bill so they will recognize it later. Fold the bill up and place it into a small drawstring money bag. Ask the spectator to hold the bag in full view. Now, for the game! Bring out a stack of giant, laminated "valuable gift cards" worth over $10,000.00! The spectator will have a chance to win one of the valuable prizes. He randomly picks one of the cards, face down. Clip the card onto the stand. Now, show him what he didn't win. No sports car. No diamond ring. No $10,000.00 in cash. No computer system. No London vacation. Well, what did he win? Give him one last chance to pick either the prize card or his money in the bag. He picks the money.

Ah, well. Ask him to open the bag. He does. Inside is a slip of paper that says, "Congratulations, you are a Winner!" But the money is gone!! Turn over the prize card. It's a picture of a lemon! What a great prize!! Reach into your case and bring out a bag of lemons. He reaches in and freely selects one.

Bring out a knife and slice open the lemon. There inside is his $50 dollar bill with his signature right across its face! Unbelievable!! What a routine!!

EFFECT: The magician gives the spectator a die. The spectator chooses any number on the die and places the die in a small container. (Let's say he picks the number five.) The small container is placed inside another container, which is then placed aside. The magician next removes four cards from a small black envelope, each card bears a large pip representing a card suit. The four cards are mixed and dealt face down. The spectator selects one, for example, the heart pip. The magician now asks what the selected number on the die was. The spectator says, "five," and this is verified. "Combining the number five with the heart pip gives us the Five of Hearts," says the magician. The spectator is asked to pick up the black envelope and remove the contents. There is one more card inside. It is the Five of Hearts!

Perfect Choice by Mike Caldwell - Trick

When they ask if you do “audience participation”, this is the trick to do!

Please read the following carefully, as it’s exactly what your audience will see:

    * A deck of cards is shown, and is held in full view throughout the performance.   You announce that you will perform “THE PERFECT PREDICTION”.

    * A person is selected from the audience (either by random choice or by throwing out a ping pong ball, etc.). He’s asked to state his name and choose either Red or Black. After doing so, he now gets to pick someone at random.

    * This second person states their name and (if RED was chosen) chooses either Hearts or Diamonds, or (if BLACK was chosen) chooses either Clubs or Spades. This second person now chooses a third person.

    * The third person gives their name and then names any card from Ace to King.
      They then select a fourth, random member of the audience.

    * This final volunteer gives their name and chooses any number from 1 to 52.

    * A dry erase board is brought out, and all of the selections are written down for verification. The LAST volunteer opens the deck of cards, and counts down to the number (from 1 to 52) that was previously selected. That card now has a RED back, while the rest of the deck is BLUE. This card is turned over to reveal that it is entirely THE WRONG CARD! But you tell him to examine it closely, and he will see your prediction - written around the edges of this card are the names and selections of ALL the participants!!

The best is yet to come: You turn over the deck and show that ALL of the remaining 51 cards are the Selected Card!! UNBELIEVEABLE – It’s the "PERFECT CHOICE!"

Ring N' Wallet by Doug Malloy - Trick

You'll never leave home without Ring in Wallet; this one has it all! Doug Malloy releases his most-requested signature effect for the first time ever!

This isn't your ordinary wallet. In fact, this isn't your ordinary effect; it's a complete five-minute routine all centered around this beautiful leather wallet that Doug is letting go for the first time, and he's left nothing out!
A ring is borrowed from a spectator, and the performer introduces a velvet cord to which he threads the ring. Very fairly, the ring is seen to visibly penetrate off the cord. The performer offers to repeat the effect, only this time, the ring has vanished off the cord completely! Where did it go? Even the performer is perplexed.

Feeling bad for losing the ring, the magician is prepared. Taking out his wallet, he offers it to the spectator. "Just kidding. Do you accept plastic instead?" he asks. Opening the wallet, the audience and spectator laugh when they see a $200.00 laminated bill. "How about a check?" The performer takes out a check which is stamped with the words "Insufficient Funds!"

After the laughter subsides, the performer calls all attention on the check. It instantly and visibly turns into a genuine $1.00 bill. "Well, we're on the right track," the performer states nervously. "Besides, you can buy a lot for a dollar these days! Remember those 10-10-220 ads?"

The performer now asks the spectator to undo his zipper. "The zipper of the wallet, I mean," he states. The spectator does so, and inside the zippered portion of the wallet is a sealed envelope. The envelope is removed, torn open, and the borrowed ring is seen to tumble out, undamaged, right into the spectator's waiting hands!

This has been Doug's closing effect for the last 15 years in his close-up, strolling, and even stage shows! In fact, Doug has gotten more work from just this piece than any other effect in his repertoire. Clients and agents call on him to make sure that this effect is performed in every show in which he's hired to perform--it's THAT powerful! The Arlington's Silk Flight by Malloy Modern Magic - Trick

The magician begins by showing a crystal box containing three silks. A small white silk is removed from the box and a spectator is asked to sign his name across it. Next a large blue silk is removed from the box and a large red silk remains inside the box. The box is closed and locked and given to an audience member to hold in plain view. The white silk with the signature is placed inside the blue silk and vanished. The spectator holding the crystal box is asked to remove the red silk. The magician takes the red silk and asks the spectator who signed the white silk to reach inside the red silk. Amazingly their signed silk reappears inside the red silk!

ORANGE LEMON EGG and PARAKEET by Malloy Modern Magic

The effect is simple and straight forward. Magician shows a birdcage with a parakeet inside (live bird is used). He then removes the parakeet from the cage and vanishes it in a handkerchief. He then takes an egg and vanishes it the same way. Next a lemon, but when he gets to the orange, he finds that he cannot easily vanish it. Taking out a knife, he cuts open the orange and inside he finds a lemon. Quite surprised, he cuts the lemon in half only to find the egg! He then takes the egg, breaks it open inside the cage and the live parakeet reappears. Definitely different and so easy to perform due to the fine manufacturing of the cage. This could easily be a closer for any type show.
