Each spectator is allowed a totally free choice of any of the 4 envelopes. They may trade with each other or even exchange their envelope to the one remaining on the tray. When they are satisfied with their choices, the leftover envelope is given to the performer as his selection. Each spectator then opens his envelope and finds a slip of paper that reads, "Better Luck Next Time." The performer then opens his envelope and inside is a $100 bill!
