A Dollar bill is borrowed from a spectator and signed by the spectator. The spectator places the signed bill in an envelope. This is mixed up with several other envelopes.

One at a time the envelopes are burned, leaving just one. The envelope is opened to find. NOTHING.

Reach in your pocket and remove your wallet. Inside the wallet is a zippered compartment. Inside the compartment is an envelope. Open the envelope and have a spectator reach inside. There inside is his signed bill!
