I am very pleased with this "quick trick". The Rope to Silk (Professional version) is 2 tricks in 1 AND is very easy to use.
The first trick is having the rope stand vertically up. This requires NOTHING. No strings, magnets, sticky stuff, ect. Completely impromptu and causes many laughs.
The second trick is the Rope to Silk. Because of the way the prop is made, it makes an easy illusion. Perfect for beginners. The only problem is that after the change, you can't do anything else with it. Normally, I would roll the silk up and place it into my front pocket on my shirt with some of it peeking out (like a handkerchief). It creates a nice touch to the costume (since there is nothing else you can do).
This really easy trick is best used on stage or caberet magic. The reason why is that you can't hand out the prop. The trick is so quick that you will need something else afterwords. This prop cannot be used alone. It's not what it was made for. You perform both tricks, ditch the prop and continue with your routine.
If I had to classify this, I would say that it is a very visual "transitional" effect. After you do one magic trick, use this prop and then continue to your next effect. It's like a breather between the harder illusions to pull off.
The rope is a yellow and the silk is red. And the learning time to use this is probably under the first hour you get it. So have fun, good luck, AND BUY THIS PROP! :D
