Hand out a two foot ribbon for examination.

Invite your spectators to pull on it and to verify that the ribbon is absolutely ordinary.

Now show a deck of cards with a hole through the upper left corner. 52 cards, 52 holes.

Explain to your spectators that they will soon pass the ribbon through the 52 cards and will tie a knot so as to completely imprison the entire deck.

Have a spectator select a card and show it to the others.

The card is shuffled back into the deck.

As mentioned at the beginning of the trick, the spectator now passes the ribbon through the deck and ties a tight knot - even a double knot, if he wishes.

It is now totally impossible to change the order of the cards - a fact your spectators will willingly acknowledge.

Show everything from all sides to the spectators and hold the deck face up in front of them.

The deck is still there? The knot is securely tied? The chosen card is still in the deck?

During these three questions pass your hand rapidly in front of the deck and believe it or not, the spectator's card is now the face card of the deck.

Your spectators can immediate examine the whole setup!

How is this possible?

How can the chosen card escape from the center and arrive at the face of the deck while the ribbon secures the cards?

The most scrupulous examination will reveal nothing - the mystery will only deepen.

Imagine the following...

As soon as the spectator has finished his examination of the deck, you pass your hand once again over the spectator's card.

And once again, the impossible happens.

The spectator's card is now free! Yes, the spectator's card is the only card to have escaped the knotted ribbon.

Give the card for examination. There's nothing to see - the hole remains intact.

When I was young, my uncle Peter fooled me badly with a simple X-Ray Vision stunt. It played serious havoc with my developing mind. Pete had been using his X-Ray Vision to "see through" the table top in order to identify how many fingers I was holding aloft. He hit it time and time again. I was later crushed, when dad explained that he'd simply been coding the information, to my uncle, via surreptitious foot tapping. In due course it was I who was performing the demonstration, and I've been fascinated with the X-Ray Vision plot ever since.

My one man show, HELLucinations, is my core act-the one I fall back upon for all of my highly paid professional work. Purporting to replicate the demonstrations of the legendary Dr. Elmer William Bishop, the show commences with some direct and perplexing "card reading" and then quickly moves through a series of unbelievable-looking demonstrations of supposed X-Ray Vision. These, among other demonstrations, include "seeing through" a heavy iron box to reveal which card a spectator has reversed in the deck, AND IT'S EXACT POSITION in said deck. It is a demonstration repeated over and over, the conditions becoming more stringent every time.

The show, presented in all seriousness, can play for thirty minutes or an hour and a half. It leaves the audience completely convinced that I have the powers of X-Ray Vision-even with a full disclaimer. This, my friends, is real bread and butter stuff.

Secretly, I have always wanted a "casual" demonstration of these supposed powers-something that could be performed with any deck of cards, at any time!

And, that's exactly what we have here, in THE XRAY DECK. Steve has done a wonderful job, completely solving the problem-creating a practical, perform anywhere solution for the effect. He's then gone on to clearly and concisely detail every nuance of his clever and direct method.

The XRay effect
The performer removes a deck from the case and gives it a complete shuffle. He thumbs through the deck to demonstrate that all the cards are different, and the deck is complete. Placing the deck on the table, he instructs the spectator that he will leave the room. While the performer is gone, the spectator is to cut the deck anywhere with a simple cut, turn the card cut to face up, memorize the card, and put the cut off portion back on the deck, leaving the selection face up. The spectator is then to take the deck, put it in the case and seal the case, leave the cased deck on the table, and signal the magician to return to the room. The performer leaves the room, the spectator does as instructed and the performer returns.

The performer explains that he has developed an uncanny ability to see the hidden-almost a type of X-Ray vision. Without ever touching the case, the performer focuses an intense gaze on the boxed deck. Much to the astonishment of onlookers, he reveals the name of the card that has been inverted!

But now things get even crazier. He again focuses his gaze on the box, and finally calls out a number. Again, he never touches the box. He instructs the spectator to take the cards out of the box, and deal the cards one at a time onto the table face up, counting for each card dealt. Tension builds as the spectator nears the number called. When the number is reached, there is the spectator's face up card! Not only has the performer accurately perceived the chosen card in a deck sealed in a box, but he named the actual position of the card as well!

THE ODD SET: You place six 'sets' of ESP cards on the table. Even though the spectator has a free selection of one of the 'sets,' he picks the ODD one!

ELIMINATOR: You place a prediction on the table. The spectator picks a few cards by cutting the deck and you eliminate all but one: It matches the prediction!

TRIPLE ESP MIRACLE: A triple miracle. Your three predictions match three mentally selected cards!

ES-PAIR-ITY: You deal cards in pairs face down on the table. A spectator selects two pairs. The pairs not selected are shown to consist of different symbols. Then two selected pairs match!

METAPHYSICS: Two spectators select a symbol each. You place the shuffled deck into your pocket and then you produce the two matching symbols!

ESP DUCK AND DEAL: Eight cards are shown (say four Circles and four Stars). The cards are mixed and dealt into two piles according to the spectators' wishes. When the piles are shown, all the Circles are in one pile, the Stars in the other!

GEO-METRICK: You place ten ESP cards face down on the table. A spectator deals his cards on the table on top of your ten cards dealt before. At the end, all the pairs match!

TRIPLE SYNCHRONICITY: A spectator picks three cards from a red-backed deck and you take three cards from a blue-backed deck. The three pairs of cards are all matching!

HEY, PETER!: A card is selected, say the 10C. Four cards are removed, one for each suit. The card of the same suit turns face down. The other three cards reveal the value of the selected card. Finally, the other three Tens turn face up in the middle of the deck!

OLRAM ARROWS: A unique effect. You show cards blank on both sides. One card is signed by a spectator and the cards are shuffled. Arrows appear on the cards pointing to the signed one!

STAND TO LOSE: Clever routine involving REAL money. Three boxes are on the table and a spectator picks TWO of them; they are empty. The final box that remains for you contains money!

THE CALENDAR CARD: Using the 'months' of the year, you reveal a freely selected card!

SNOOPY: A card with a picture of a dog (Snoopy) finds a spectator's selection!

COURT-DIE-ALLY: The face cards are used and after shuffled, you separate them in groups: Kings, Jacks and Queens!

SIMPLE TRIPLE MINDS: You will love the principle behind the routine. After a spectator deals three packets of cards, you will be able to do three very strong effects!

STRAITEGY: Here you use all the highest cards. Even though the selections of the spectators seem so fair, at the end, you show that all the 'flushes' have been separated (Ace to Ten repeated four times)!

SHORT THREE: Three stunning revelations. Six cards ripped in half and shuffled. Three spectators picks a half and you produce the other halves to make the whole matching cards!

HOPE I WIN: A very unusual poker demonstration where you, of course, win!

TRIDUPE: This is a fantastic card routine using half cards where at the end you have three matching pairs selected at random by the spectators!

ROYALEE: A three card revelation using the twelve face cards!

PRELUDE (Allen Lang): A spectator picks the matching card of your prediction and then the four Aces are revealed!

ELASTIC ILLUSION (Derek Dingle): A rubber band becomes two, then one and then two again. Everything can be examined!

PIN THRU HANK (Richard Durham): A fantastic mini-illusion. A pin is fastened to a handkerchief and a SPECTATOR can release it with no damage to the hank!

JUMP SHOT (Karl Fulves & Fr. Cyprian): A rubber band is placed around the deck, then is seen to be around half of the deck and finally around the selected card!

ALA ELMSLEY (Larry Jennings): The Larry's version of the famous "Four-card trick" by Alex Elmsley!

ROYAL BLUE (Karl Fulves): A packet of red-backed cards is shown front and back. One after the other the four Aces appear and at the end they are shown to have blue backs!

ALL FOR ONE (Bruce Cervon): Three cards are seen to be all 9C, then all 3D and finally all QS!

BACK FLIP (Sam Schwartz): This is an eye-popping routine and the repeat color change looks impossible. Four blue-backed Kings turn face up one at a time, the backs of the cards change from blue to red and then from red to green!

SWINDLE MATES (Herb Zarrow): A packet is shuffled by a spectator and matches the cards in another packet left always on the table!

UP-UP & AWAY (J.K. Hartman): Another great elevator kind of routine with a surprising climax!

THREE DIFFERENT WAYS (Paul Swinford): A card changes place with the Ace of the same suit!

DOWN AND UNDER (Roy Walton): A spectator finds two mates. The trick is automatic and it is done with the cards in the spectator's hands!

FOURTEENTOLD: A person selects a symbol. A prediction envelope containing some coins leads to the discovery of a duplicate design!

VOGNERIAN: Four matching pairs are found by a spectator from a shuffled deck; plus another selected symbol is revealed at the end of the routine!

PENCOIN: Two spectators each end up selecting a number of matching symbols from an ESP deck!

STRAIGHT CURVE: Here's a method of doing the classic "Miraskill" by Stewart James with ESP cards. A self-working miracle!

THE OTHER ESP TEST: Two sets of ESP symbols are shuffled several times by a spectator. Yet, at the end, he separates the symbols. Introduces a new principle that can be used in many other routines with ESP cards or regular cards!

QUICKEE COMES TO MIND: Two spectators select two symbols from a packet of ten cards and you find the matching cards to those freely chosen ones!

QUINTSETES: You and four spectators each select five symbols from a deck. When each person (and you) examines his five cards, they prove to be one of each design with no repeats!

GHOSTECTIVE: A ghost (blank card) of a famous detective locates duplicates of two spectators' selected ESP symbols!

THIS IS THE THIRD IN A SERIES OF DVDS DEDICATED TO TRICKS AND ROUTINES USING ESP CARDS. HOWARD ADAMS IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE MOST PROLIFIC CREATORS WITH REGARD TO ESP CARDS.

Contents:
CIDENTAQUIN: One of the best routines with ESP cards. A spectator picks a card (free choice). You split the deck into two halves and deal cards face up at the same time from both packets. Only two pairs will match (say the four Circles). The spectator's card is the remaining Circle!

SYMBA WONDA: The deck is shuffled and cut. Five spectators pick five cards each apparently totally at random. The five cards are one of each symbol. This is amazing!

PAKADUA: A spectator selects a card (free choice). He then shuffles the deck with the cards face up and face down. You deal seven cards face down taking them from both sides of the deck. One card is then picked and it matches the spectator's selection!

CELEBRITHREE: After the deck is shuffled a spectator cuts it half face up and half face down. He then removes cards from each packet totally at random creating at the same time three pairs. These pairs are matching (say two Circles, two Squares and two Stars)!

PREDICNIC: A prediction involving cards and coins. Great combination. You will never stop doing this clever effect!

TULEFTA: Probably the most famous trick by Howard. Two sets of ESP cards are shuffled and paired by the spectators totally at random. Yet, the five pairs match (two Circles, Two Squares, etc.)!

TRIPLERSONS: In this effect a series of matching tests are conducted with three people!

REVERSEE: Duplicates of two cards selected by two people are found reversed in the middle of the deck!

CARD TO BELIEVE: You apparently find a person's mentally selected card and place it in the deck between two of its duplicates!

THINKARD: Two people mentally select two ESP symbols and you reveal them in different ways!

This is the fourth in a series of DVDS dedicated to effects using ESP cards. Howard Adams was certainly one of the most prolific creators with regards to ESP cards.

CONTENTS:
PAKATRIA: A spectator picks a card and places it into an envelope. He then shuffles the cards and removes seven cards. You place the envelope on one card. It matches the selection!

RECYCLER: You remove five cards from the deck. A spectator chooses the order of another set of five symbols. You have predicted the actions of the spectator!

NAPKAN: Two spectators remove two symbols at random. They then cover one packet with a napkin and from it, sight unseen, you remove the two matching symbols!

QUARTEST: Four prediction cards match four cards freely selected by two spectators. In addition, there is a mindreading test conducted for a third person!

SYMBOLIKE: This is a series of two face-up and face-down mysteries in which a spectator does all the work, but some unknown power must have been at work to guide him to the unique conclusion!

MULTI ESP 21: You discover three mentally chosen symbols in a very dramatic way!

PAIRSEE: Two spectators assist you in this experiment and each select an identical set of two cards!

QUICHE ESP: A spectator matches two symbols under what it seems are impossible conditions!

COUNTHINK: You predict two symbols that a spectator freely stops at while you are dealing the cards!

CIDENTAQUIN PLUS THREE: A spectator picks a sign. You deal the cards into two packets. While dealing them, only two pairs match (say the four Squares), the selected symbol is the other Square. The spectator himself riffle shuffles the remaining cards and he deals them in five piles. Each packet contains a complete set of five different symbols!

THIS IS THE NINTH IN A SERIES OF DVDS DEDICATED TO EFFECTS USING ESP CARDS. WERNER MILLER IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE MOST PROLIFIC CREATORS WITH REGARDS TO ESP CARDS. All these routines are self-working with no sleight-of-hand whatsoever.

ESP TWIZZLER: A symbol is selected and you find a duplicate in a packet of cards!

MEETING ONE'S MATCH: A card is selected. Two packets of cards are dealt at the same time and only two symbols match and they also match the selection!

QUAD-CUT VARIATIONS: A beautiful routine (totally impromptu) where you and the spectator find five matching symbols from a shuffled deck!

AEOLIS PRELUDE: Using a compass you find five different symbols in a deck of ESP cards!

DOUBLE PROOF: A prediction or...a comedy prediction, ends up finding the matching symbol of a selected card!

DOUBLE-DECKER: Two duplicates of a selected symbol appear between three face-up cards!

FLIPDOODLE III: A fantastic routine where a spectator shuffles the deck and at the end four matching symbols are the only reversed cards and they match a previously selected card!

AROUND THE CLOCK: A card is selected and you deal the other cards in pairs in the shape of a clock. You predicted the 'hour' (10 to 5 for example) and you take the two pairs at that hour. The two pairs match and the symbols are matching the selection!

PENTAFLUSH: A spectator is able to pick five matching symbols from a deck of ESP cards!

POSITION OF TROST: A fantastic routine with multiple matching pairs. A 'closer' for any ESP card act!

SYMBOLICLUE (Werner Miller): A spectator picks a card. The other cards are dealt in four packets and assembled randomly. When you turn over the cards in pairs only four cards match (say four Squares), the fifth symbol is the selected one (Square)!

WHITEWASH (Peter Duffie & Robin Robertson): Four cards with numbers shuffled by a spectator are used to find four symbols (say all Square), that match your prediction. At the end all the other cards are blank. This is a great routine!

INTERIOR DESIGNS (Roy Walton): Two spectators remove a symbol at random from two packets repeatedly shuffled. You reveal these two symbols!

ESP-TRANSPO (Cameron Francis): You show five ESP symbols and one blank-faced card which is left on the table. A symbol is selected and appears on the card leaving a blank card in the packet!

PERFECT MATCH (Magic Ronnay): Two packets of ESP cards are perfectly paired up by a spectator after the cards have been shuffled!

DOUBLE CROSS (Aldo Colombini): A funny effect where you show two packets of ESP symbols. One card is selected from one pile and from the other packet letters appear to reveal the chosen symbols!

PSYCHLOID (Max Maven): From a shuffled deck and using a regular die, a spectator finds five matching symbols (or a set of five different symbols)!

FUTURE SHOCK (Terry Morgan): Two decks are used. A spectator shuffles a deck and at the end, when the cards from both decks are all turned up in pairs, they all match. Amazing routine!

NOUGHTS & CROSSES (Roy Johnson): A great "Follow the Leader" routine using ESP cards!

MENTAL TEKEL (MaxMaven): A spectator freely picks a card from a red-backed deck. Your blue-backed card matches the selection!

A CUT ABOVE (Marcello Truzzi): A 'paper sleeve' containing a piece of paper with five ESP symbols is cut at random by a spectator cutting through an ESP sign (free cut). It matches the previous sign selected from a packet of cards. Great method. Great routine!

ESP FOOL'S MATE (Nick Trost & Aldo Colombini): You place a red-backed card on the table (say the Cross). A spectator freely selects a card from a packet and this card is a Square. You show all the other cards being Crosses. Finally, the red card changes into a Square!

KLONDIKE ESP (Werner Miller): From a shuffled deck one card is placed aside and two spectators place pairs of cards on the table. Only two pairs match with the single card (e.g. all Stars)!

ESP, MAGIC OR COINCIDENCE? (Paul Hallas): Eight cards are shown and shuffled. Three spectators pair the cards by using the words ESP or MAGIC!

MAKING THE POINT (Karl Fulves): Using two regular dice, a spectator finds two matching pairs from a shuffled deck!

ESPIAL (Aldo Colombini): A combination of ESP cards and a regular deck of playing cards with a strong prediction with two cards having a Square and a Circle cut-out in the middle. Novelty effect!

EITHER/OR (Stephen Minch): Two spectators pick a card using a freely chosen number and you can immediately name the two symbols chosen! Clever subtlety!

VISION ESP (Armand Porcell): The deck is riffle shuffled (even by a a spectator) and five cards are taken. You immediately name them!

ACE STOP: Here is a quick, easy method of locating the four Aces in a magical manner!

AMBITIOUS DEUCE SANDWICH: A selected card is buried in the deck only to jump to the top and land between the two red Deuces. This happens THREE times!

TEN-IN-A-ROW DOUBLE COINCIDENCE: This trick represents Trost at his best-and we think his best is hard to beat. The name says it all!

ROYAL RENDEZVOUS: This routine with court cards packs a three-way punch and there is no sleight of hand involved!

TRIUMPH ACE OPENER: The deck is cut and the two halves shuffled together, one face up and one face down. The deck is ribbon spread and all the cards are face down except the four Aces!

THE TELEPHONE NUMBER TRICK: This is a very simple method for performing the revelation of a spectator's telephone number with cards!

THE OMEGA BET-UPDATED: A match or no match bet with cards with several climaxes; the last one occurs after a spectator shuffles the deck. Great routine!

MULTIPLYING KINGS: Four Kings and a selection. The cards are counted three times: the first time there are five; the second time, six; and the third time, seven. Then there are eight face-up Kings. The cards are counted again and they are just the four Kings. The selection appears face up in the middle of the deck. Fun to watch and fun to do!

ACE TO FIVE: You show the AS to 5S. The AS is placed second from the top of the packet and it rises to the top. You repeat with the 2S, 3S and 4S. The 5S changes to the 5H!

MENTAL FINGERTIPS: You hand the deck to a spectator and turn your back. The spectator removes a few cards. A second spectator selects a card at random. The deck is dropped into your pocket. You remove two cards: The total corresponds to the number of cards removed by the first spectator. For the second climax, you remove from the pocket the mate of the other spectator's selection!

CONTENTS:

DOUBLE PINOCHLE WITH AN ELEVATOR FINISH: Four cards, two JD's and two QS's change into four Aces. Then the Aces travel up and down through the deck!

FOUR-ACE VANISH AND RECOVERY: The four Aces are seen to vanish in a deck of cards and then they reappear face up in the middle of the deck!

INTUITION: A spectator reverses a card in a deck and you reverse a card in another deck. When the decks are dealt the two cards appear at the same time, but not only that, they match!

BOTTOMS, SECONDS AND CENTERS DEMONSTRATION: In this funny and pseudo gambling demonstration, three difficult sleights are (apparently) 'exposed' - the bottom deal, the second deal and the center deal!

HORSE RACE: You play a horse race where three spectators pick a horse (Ace) leaving one to you and, of course, you win the race. Fun routine with great audience participation!

AUTOMATIC POKER: A spectator selects five cards from five pairs. Yet, you win with a better hand!

SIGNIFICATOR FIVE-SPOT: An effective opener with the revelation of the four Aces!

LINEUP: The deck is shuffled with the cards face up and face down. Two packets are taken and you try to secretly arrange the cards in the same order. When the two packets are dealt in unison, the cards match!

SEVEN CARD COUNT: A funny Six-Card Repeat effect entirely self-working and totally impromptu!

BELIEVE IT OR NOT!: Half of the deck is left aside. The other half is shuffled with the cards face down and face up. This half is spread and all the cards are facing the same way. The other half is spread and is now a mixture of face-up and face-down cards!

PREDICTING RED, BLACK AND COURTS: You lay four predictions on the table. A spectator shuffles the deck. The predictions are correct revealing the number of red cards, black cards and court cards. You won't believe it until you do it!

THE AMBITIOUS JACKS: This is a three-phase routine where the Jacks reveal themselves as ambitious cards and always assemble to the top of the deck!

VALUE/COLOR PREDICTION: You place two pairs of cards on the table. A spectator takes (freely) two cards. Your cards reveal the value and the color of the selections!

THE SUB-TRUNK MYSTERY: You show a version of the famous Substitution Trunk Mystery using a deck of cards. The KS (magician) and the QH (assistant) change place in the deck of cards!

A FIVE-SYMBOL MYSTERY: Five cards are selected by a spectator apparently at random, and they are seen to be all Stars! A

MATTER OF DESIGN: A card is placed face down as a prediction. A spectator deals cards separating the deck into two piles. These piles are dealt again into two and the top card of each of the four packets is revealed: They are (say) four Squares. The prediction is seen to be the other Square!

UNA-MINDS: Two spectators note an ESP symbol. One spectator shuffles the deck (you are not looking), mixing face-up and face-down cards. Yet, you locate the two selected cards!

ODD ISN'T IT?: You show a packet of eight cards. A spectator freely picks one card. It is the only odd card of the packet (say a Circle, while all the other symbols are Stars)!

PAIR-ITY: You lay aside a pair of cards as 'prediction' cards. A spectator selects two cards and these match the predictions!

PARADOXICAL ESP-PAIRS: Pairs of cards are placed on the table and a spectator freely chooses two pairs. These are the only matching pairs, all the other pairs do not match!

EXTRASENSORY DECEPTION: A spectator picks two cards. He then deals the cards in pairs totally at random and you pick a pair. These two cards match the two selected cards!

SYNC-RO-MESH: Two symbols are selected and you predicted them!

SORCERER'S SEVENS: Using only the low cards, a spectator selects four cards; surprisingly these turn out to be all Sevens. He then inserts two of the Sevens face up in the middle of the packet. The face-down cards above and below each seven are shown to total seven. No other adjacent cards total seven!

FIFTEEN CARD MYSTERY: A card is chosen and three packets of 5 cards each are dealt. The selection moves from one packet to another, disappears and reappears face up in the middle of the packet!

CARDS OF COINCIDENCE: A startling matching effect. Four selected cards match your predictions and then you reveal the four Aces!

ANOTHER OIL AND QUEENS: Four Kings and four Queens are alternated. Two Kings and two Queens are placed on the table. The in-hand packet changes to four Queens, while the tabled packet changes to four Aces. Then the four Queens change to Kings!

FOUR OF A KIND: A spectator selects a card (say a red King) and then another one: The other red King. One of the Kings is inserted into the deck and finds the two black Kings!

COURT CARD CONCLAVE: The deck is shuffled and the face cards removed. They are shown in pairs and each pair is mixed in color and value. Magically, all are now matching pairs!

The great Card Magic of Nick Trost. Nick was a master in creating amazing tricks and routines based on subtleties rather than difficult sleight of hand. Due to the amazing success of the three DVD set we produced and the numerous requests, here's another one, the fourth in the series. This is a humble tribute to a very creative magician.

Most of these tricks are impromptu and they all use a regular deck of cards.

CONTENTS:
THE GATHERING OF THE COURT CARDS: A great nine-card assembly, with Jacks, Queens and Kings!

THE SLIPPERY ACES: The Aces are sandwiched between the two red Jacks. They disappear and reappear between the black Jacks!

TOPSY-TURVY ACES: The Aces are inserted in the middle of the deck which is shuffled with some cards face up and some face down. At the end, all the cards are face down except the Aces!

DEAL AND DUCK POKER: Ten cards are used. The spectator picks five at random. You end up with a Royal Flush!

CARDS AND DICE PREDICTION: Two dice and a deck of cards. A card is selected by throwing the dice and the same dice find it!

ELIMINATION: A card is chosen and you show the entire deck card by card. The selection is gone! It will re-appear face up in the middle of the deck!

THE FIFTH HOTEL MYSTERY: Queens and Kings are shuffled in pairs, but at the end the Queens are all together and so are the Kings!

M-U-M MIRACLE: A spectator THINKS of any card. You reveal it, without any clue, with a method that will blow them away!

ELEVATOR CARDS: The name says it all. The classic elevator theme, the Trost way!

TROST ON AL KORAN'S "PREDICTION SUPREME": You place three predictions on the table and three spectators pick a card each. The three selections match your predictions!

THE RESTLESS COURT CARDS: The twelve court cards are used. You place them in three packets and then switch their positions. They follow each other in their respective piles!

AN EQUALIZER REVEALMENT: Two cards are freely selected and replaced. The deck is shuffled face up and face down and at the end all the red cards are face up except the black selection and vice-versa the black cards are face up except the red selection!

THE AUTOMATIC GAMBLER: Some cards are shuffled by you and the spectator. Three hands are dealt and your hand beats the other two!

IT'S A DATE: A coin is borrowed and left in full view The deck is shuffled and cut by a spectator and four cards are selected. The four cards reveal the date of the coin!

SPECTATORS' DOUBLE MATCH: The deck is divided in half and two spectators each take a half-deck and pick two cards. They match. The same thing is repeated with the same result!

THE ROYAL TREATMENT: The four Queens are paired up with the four Kings by a spectator, and they all match (Hearts with Hearts, Clubs with Clubs, etc.)!

COINCIDENTAL CUT: A spectator cuts any amount of cards. Two cards are selected from the remaining of the deck and they indicate the cards cut by the first spectator!

FOURTEEN-CARD FOLLOW THE LEADER: The classic theme, the easy way, THE Nick Trost way!

DOUBLE CATO REVELATION: A sixteen-card packet is shuffled by a spectator after two cards have been chosen. At the end, the two cards appear in the opposite color pile!

The GREAT packet tricks of Nick Trost. All the tricks require special cards (not supplied but easily obtainable) or simply duplicates of some cards.

UN-CARDS: A beautiful prediction effect using blank-faced cards (the Un-Cards). The selected card is shown to be the only red card of the packet. The prediction says, "YOU WILL SELECT THE RED CARD."

EXPANDING CARDS: A stunning, visual effect! A fan of five miniature cards (say A, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Clubs) expands to large ones in a blink of an eye! So easy to do. For close-up, walk-around, etc.

KOPY KAT: From two packets of cards you and a spectator take a card each. The cards match and all the other cards are seen to be the same. Everything can be examined!

FLIM-FLAM: You place a card on the table and try to print three duplicates of that card from blank cards. The card is the 5D and you print three 10C....Mistake? The three cards change into all 5D's!

A PACKET OF BACKS: Four cards turn out to be the same (all 10D), then they are all double-backed cards, then blank-faced cards and finally, they reveal a selected card!

TWISTO BLANKO: Four cards (say the four Queens) turn face down one at a time and then all the cards become blank on both sides!

JUMBO TWO-WAY SPLIT: From cards cut in half two spectators picks the two halves and they are seen to match. Not only that, you predicted that card! What an amazing trick this is!

QUADRAPLEX: You show two predictions. Then a spectator shuffles quarters of jumbo cards and at the end only four cards are face down in the packet. The first prediction is correct. The four cards are assembled and they make a whole card but with a mismatched corner. The other prediction is the same card with the same mismatched corner!

ABRA-CARD-ABRA: A blue-backed packet and a red-backed packet are used. Two cards are selected and they match! All the other cards are the same. Similar to "Kopy Kat" but different method.

CARD CLONING: You show a red card and two black cards. You produce three more red cards and then the two black cards change into red as well!

ROYAL TRIUMPH: Four cards are selected from a red-backed deck. You produce the four Kings and these have blue backs. At the end, these four cards are the selected ones!

MATRIX MIRACLE: Five cards are selected. Spectators help to select any other five cards and these are seen to be the mates of the previously chosen ones!

STRANGER IN PARADISE One card is selected from a blue-backed deck. A red-backed deck is shown. The cards are counted and they are only 51. The selected card from the blue deck is turned over and it is seen to be the missing RED-BACKED card!

DESTINY DECK: Using a deck of cards and two dice, you reveal a couple of very strong coincidences and a stunning climax!

STRAIGHT POKER DEAL: A spectator shuffles the deck and you deal poker hands and, of course, you will win with the best hand!

INCREDIBLE!: You show a deck half blue and half red. One card is selected from each half and these two cards match. All the other cards are seen to be all duplicates of an entirely different card!

HALF WILD: Probably the most famous routine by the late Nick Trost. A deck is cut into two. Two half cards are selected: They match and they are seen to be the only normal cards because one half of the deck has no faces and the other half has no backs!

OSCAR: A spectator thinks of a card in the deck and you name it "Oscar." You show all different names on the backs of the cards and the selected card has the name Oscar on its back!

DUO BRAINWAVE: You place a blue-backed card on the table. A card selected from a blue-backed deck turns out to have a red back. Your blue-backed card matches the selected one!

TECHNICOLOR CHANGE: After a selected card has been revealed to be the only different colored card in the deck, you will produce a series of stunning color changes with the appearances of a Rainbow Deck!

FOUR TIMES NINE: Using only the spot cards, a spectator selects four pairs and they are laid on four selected cards. These cards are seen to be the Nines. Each pair totals 9!

DUCK OR DEAL BLACKJACK: A spectator shuffles eight cards and then separates them in four pairs. At all time the cards are in the spectator's hands. He has formed four blackjack hands: Each pair consists of a Jack and an Ace!

FOLLOWING SUIT: One card of each suit is placed on the table for 'targets.' A spectator freely selects cards from small groups and places the on the 'targets'. When finished, it is shown that the suits all match the target cards!

THE 20/20 PREDICTION: Using only 16 cards you produce a series of fantastic coincidences, where the number 20 is predominant!

NUMEROLOGY IN COLOR: A spectator picks a card and it matches your prediction (say these are the two black Jacks). All the other cards are red!

THE INSURANCE CARD I: You place an envelope marked "insurance" on the table. A spectator shuffles the deck and deals four cards to start a poker hand. The missing card to make a straight flush is the 8D. The card in the envelope is the 8D!

FIVE IN A ROW: You place the AC through 5C on the table and magically the cards reverse their order!

PSYCHIC COINCIDENCE: Two spectators each select three cards from the deck. Three cards appear face up in the deck. When the spectators turn the cards over, they match the reversed cards!

AMBITIOUS ACE TO FIVE: You show five cards, the AC to 5C. Each card rises to the top of the packet and finally the 5C changes into the 5D!

THE ROYAL PAIR PUZZLER: A spectator shuffles the deck and deals the cards turning two cards face up at the same time. In so doing, a 'royal pair' is made!

The "borrowed item to impossible location" is a classic of magic and for good reason. It always generates great reactions and interest because the props are personal to the spectator. It leaves itself open to great comedy, interaction, tension and suspense. It is an essential part of any good magic act.

I have tried many different impossible location routines over my thirty years in magic and The Marvelous Nut Dropper is by far my favorite in terms of routine, presentation, method and simplicity.

The first, "The Wizard's Apprecntice" is my full twenty minute opener to my cabaret show. The spectator is asked to examine six cards, each one has the word 'Click' on one side and 'Bang' on the other. Six envelopes are examined and any card is placed into any envelope as the performer explains that each card represents a bullet and each envelope is the chamber of a gun. The performer instructs them to place one card showing the 'Bang' and the others showing a 'Click' into each envelope. All are mixed up as the performer turns back and attempts to divine which envelope contains the 'Bang' card.

The envelopes can shuffled by the spectator many times he wish you always know where is the 'Bang' card.

Sealed:

Sealed is a confabulation type of routine without any gimmicks.

The performer removes a notepad from his pocket and a pen.

He opens the notepad flick through it and shows it to the audience, it is completely normal. The performer introduces an envelope that is in his pocket and tell to the audience that it's gonna be important later on.

He asked the first spectator to remove a change from his pocket and count it. The spectator does it and names out loud the amount of change.

The performer writes down the information. He invites a second spectator to name any country in the world. The second spectator names the country .

The performer asks the third spectator to name his favourite color. The spectator calls out his favourite color. At this point the performer gives the notepad to one of the spectators to prove he wrote down only the things that the spectators called out.

Now the performer reaches in his pocket, take out the sealed envelope. Give it to one of the spectators, the spectator open the envelope. There is a piece of paper in there, he reads it out loud and every information is matching.

Comes with three handlings.

Chip Cabaret:

The performer introduce 4 poker chips in different colours which are sealed in an aluminium foil.

These are mixed by the spectator and the spectator is asked to lay them down to the table in any order. After that the spectator is asked to discard one of the chps. The spectator asked to place each one in a different pocket.

There is a prediction on the table from the start. The performer reveal where each chip is located, the prediction is opened by the spectator and it contains the color of the chip which was discarded.

Doublethink Remixed:

This is my add-on the effect called Doublethink by Derren Brown. This effect use two spectators the first spectator freely select a playing card the second spectator just thought of a card. The performer reveal the selected and the though of card.

Impossible Sandwich, by Sander Kosters, is an amazing sandwich effect that will completely baffle your spectators!

As with most sandwich effects, the trick starts out by removing two cards. In our demo video, we use the two black aces.

Then, the spectator is given a free choice to choose any card out of the center of the deck. That's right, ANY card.

After looking at the card, they are told to remember it, and then the card is lost in the middle of the deck. You even shuffle and cut the deck a number of times, just to make sure it's hopelessly lost.

You then draw their attention to the two aces on the table. What is so special about these two cards anyway? Well, after simply waving them above the deck on the table, they magically sandwich in between them one card.....one mysterious card!

You ask the spectator for their card, and they tell you, only to reveal that the card which was sandwiched between the two aces is NOT their card! It's some indifferent card, like the King of Spades! How did this happen? It looks as if the magician screwed up big time. You ask the spectator again if they are POSITIVE that this wasn't their card, drawing even more attention to the messup. Of course, they respond by saying "No, I'm sure that was not my card."

So the magician puts the sandwiched packet to the side in FULL VIEW THE ENTIRE TIME! He then asks the spectator to merely THINK of his card while the deck gets cut. This magically causes one card to reverse itself in the middle of the deck!

The magician then removes this one face down card from the deck, and places it on the table. Finally, he asks the name of the spectators card one more time. However, the card that was just extracted from the deck is NOT the spectators card, but instead, it's the same indifferent card that was previously sandwiched between the aces!

Impossibly, the spectator is blown away to see that the card now sandwiched between the aces is in fact THEIR CHOSEN CARD! It can even be signed!

A unique twist on the Any Card At Any Number plot. One person thinks of a number and writes it down. Another person thinks of a card and writes it down. They never say them out loud until the end. A fastened pocket is opened in the wallet to reveal a sealed envelope. Inside this envelope is a card. It is the card thought of by the spectator. The card is turned over to reveal that a number has been written on the back of the card. It matches the number thought of by the second spectator.

Twin Peeks (similar to ANAAC).
Two people are asked to think of a card to see if there is any synchronicity between them. They write down the card. When they are shown they do not match (probably). A sealed envelope is removed from the wallet. Inside the envelope is a card. It matches one of the choices. On the back of the card is written the name of a different card. It matches the second spectators choice.

Think of Dog
The spectator is made to think of the name of their pet my means of a very powerful psychological force. The word is then revealed along with a "warm" reading about the pet. This is a very powerful and personal routine and is the one that gets more reaction than anything else in my working repertoire.

Double or Nothin'.
A great gambling routine that makes use of the Mullica feature of the wallet.

My Favorite Card Trick (Trade show trick)
This is the effect I use at every tradeshow I have ever been booked at. It generates great foot flow to the stand and helps you (and your client) to keep track of exactly hwo good a job you are doing for them. Guarantees results and repeat bookings. Also included are tips on how to sell your services to the client. This trick is worth the whole cost of the wallet

Kollosal Prediction
Four people are asked to write down a number they guess the magician is thinking of. A prediction shows that they were all wrong but in a very baffling way.

Full Circle
The magician talks about how simple shapes and symbols are but also how they can stimulate very complex ideas, thoughts and emotions. The business card has a circle printed at the bottom of it. This can symbolize anything...a football, a smiley face, a golf ball, a clock...pentagram.....lots of different things. The spectator can now fill in the circle with whatever they like that means something to them personally.... The name of a football team, the time on a clock, a happy face etc etc.

The magician then gives a cold reading based on what they have done (up to four people)

Poker Faced Peek
Draw a circle on the business card. The person then puts a smiley, sad, puzzled, etc expression on the circle to make a face. They have to keep a straight face whilst you stare at them and do a face reading.....small twitches in their face muscles tell you everything you need to know. then you break into the face they are thinking of. (or just draw it). A cue sheet of smiley faces is included with the DVD.

Smiley Stooge
As with poker faced peek you peek the smiley symbol then pull the face to a different spectator as a visual cue for them to draw.

Clocking Off
The spectator fills in the circle with the hands of a clock. A watch that has been on the side the whole time is turned over to show the matching time. This is done using a gimmicked watch. Conversely you can simply turn the watch face yourself.

Derren's Whisper
A spectator writes down a word and it is placed aside. Another spectator os given an envelope with written instruciotns on how to read minds sealed inside. The second spectator looks at this and can immediately read the first spectators mind.

Squeek to Jermay
Same as "Derrens Whisper" but using the finger to nose with squeeker gag as the "moment" the idea/word pops into their head. Like Luke Jermay.

Foursight
The ultimate peek effect. One person draws a shape/symbol one a favorite food, one a favorite place, one a word that means something to them (think of a dog routine). Each is revealed with a short cold-reading.

Association Whispers
The first person writes a word and shows it to the second person. The second person then writes a word linked with the first persons word and shows it to the third person etc until the forth person has a word. This word is said aloud. The magician then works his way backwards revealing each persons word.

Chinese Fish Trumps
Like association whispers but instead of word association it is using the last word as the first part of the next word. EG. Spectator thinks of the word "fish" next person thinks "tank" (fisk-tank), next person thinks "top" (tank-top), final person thinks "trumps" (top trumps) hence the word FISHTRUMPS.

Card Clone
Credit Card fraud is now so bad that pin numbers are created by four different people and sent individually. Four people write a one digit number and then shuffle them. You not only get the numbers but also the correct order.

With kicker ending of carbon printed number inside envelope (like the bank send you). This is done when trying to guess the number by writing it down (you get it wrong) and instead write the carbon thing. This is made from a glued up envelope with carbon glued onto it and a see through plastic window.

Two Cards to Wallet
Does what it says on the tin. One in Mullica, one in sleeve.

Since The Expert at the Card Table was published in 1902, there have been over 50 editions. It has been translated into various languages and transcribed by the brightest minds. It is the greatest book on card technique ever written and likewise, the most studied. Its contents are just as relative today as they were over 100 years ago. In the June 2010 issue of Magic magazine, John Lovick writes that Erdnase "inspires religious fervor and pilgrim-like devotion from its disciples", which is to say the least for serious students. It has indeed become a devotional vade mecum with new insight and inspiration gained with every read. Many magicians have spent their life studying the book. Dai Vernon, a master of close-up magic, left us all with his wonderful annotations in Revelation, giving many of the methods a modern approach. Erdnase will always have its devout scholars, but lately it's become more of a trend. We think this started a few years ago when the Conjuring Arts Research Center released its Bible Edition, a pocket sized version in which you won't find a card man without. This year, we saw the release of a custom deck of cards paying tribute to Erdnase, and there is even talk now of an Erdnase convention. Frequently asked questions:

Do I need to buy any refills or other supplies?
No.

Are there any clothing requirements?
No.Do I need to crush the cup at the end or can I show it empty instead?
Crushing the cup is very dramatic so there are some crushed cup handlings. Other handlings include vanishes where the cup is shown empty at the end and also a transposition where the coffee changes into coffee beans (or another object).

Can I drink some coffee before I make it vanish?
Yes.

Can the coffee be hot or does it need to be cold?
Hot or cold, it doesn't matter.

Can the cup be examined at the end?
You will learn handlings (including some of the crushed cup handlings) that allow the cup to be examined at the conclusion. It is important to keep in mind, though, that after you crush the cup it becomes litter in the spectator's mind.

Is it difficult?
The average person will need about 1-2 hours of practice.

Is it limited to coffee shop performances?
Although coffee shops are a great venue, Mojoe also works in your home, on parlour or stage, or anywhere that a cup of coffee, soda, milk, etc. can be introduced.

Bring out a small wooden box and place it down on the table. Have a playing card freely chosen and signed by a spectator. Shuffle it back into the deck and ask, "Do you think that I can find your card in less than ten seconds without even looking at the cards?"

Hold the deck behind your back for several seconds, then bring it out and announce, "I've found it!" Pause briefly, then continue, "And guess where it is..." Point to the wooden box that has been resting on the table all along. There's absolutely no way the card could be inside because no one has been anywhere near the box.

Slowly reach over with your empty hand and pick up the box, then bring it over to the spectator and say, "Please remove the lid." The spectator lifts the lid and sees a folded card inside. Turn the box over and dump out the card, then place the empty box down on the table. The spectator unfolds the card; it is his card with his signature!

At the conclusion you can leave the box on the table for your audience to handle; they won't find a clue to the mystery.

Only two magicians fooled Penn & Teller in the initial show, and one of those was John Archer. He did so with a smart, simple routine called "Blank Night," and Vanishing Inc. A Zombie Eyeball routine that will have the kids on the edge of their seats!

Designed for the working performer. Perform this in your birthday act or on a large stage. Begin by telling a story about a monster that lived long ago in a far away land. This monster was a Cyclops, a creature with only one eye. He also had one leg that was shorter than the other, so thetownspeople named him The Lopsided Cyclops. His favorite food . . .
CHILDREN! BUT DON’T WORRY! The monster doesn’t exist anymore. The only thing that remains is the monsters eyeball. Ask the children if they would like to see it.

Bring out a velour drawstring bag and remove a decorative wooden box with WARNING signs all over it. Of course you ignore the signs, remove the eyeball and rest it on a pedestal on top of the box. You explain that when the eyeball is exposed to light, it will remain asleep. But in total darkness, it will live again! Yea right! Lets see what happens!

You cover the eyeball with a cloth and all of a sudden it begins to rise underneath the cloth. It keeps rising and floating eerily then all of a sudden it rises to the top of the cloth and looks at you. Then it darts back under the cloth and goes out of control, pulling you all over the stage! The kids love it! It pulls you to the left! It pulls you to the right! Totally out of control! Then it peeks over the cloth and looks at the audience. Once again it darts back under the cloth shoots towards the audience! You desperately try to overcome its power with tug of war motions! You finally get it under control and it floats back to your table. Remove the cloth and place the eyeball back into the box. All of a sudden the lid on the box begins to slowly rise up and the kids can see the eyeball trying to escape. This is
a great look-no-see moment and the kids go absolutely wild trying to tell you! You finally see it an slam the top back down, but it does it again and again!

You place the box back into the bag and tie it really tight, but the kids can still hear a knocking sound coming from the bag. Yikes! Put the bag back into your case and vow to never take it out again! (Until your next show)
