Cut And Restored String - Two pieces of string are cut in the fairest possible manner yet are restored by the performer.

Traveling Knot - A scaled-down version of Pavel's classic concept. A length of thread is threaded through a piece of straw. The straw is cut, obviously cutting the string, also. However, the straw is moved along the length of thread until the spectator says stop. The straw is removed to show that the cut point has apparently moved with the straw.

Dime And Penny - Every magician started with this trick but Jeff Sheridan shows you how to make it into a miracle. A coin visibly turns into another and then penetrates a solid sheet of rubber to fall into a glass.

Sheridan Princess - Three pairs of cards are placed under wooden plaques. The performer removes one card from under each plaque, correctly predicting the spectator's choice in each case. A triple miracle!

Card Stab - Another classic of magic given the Sheridan treatment. A selected card is shuffled into the pack, which is then wrapped in a napkin. The performer thrusts a knife through the napkin, impaling the
selected card.

Cold Capsule - Imagine the look on your spectators' faces as a common cold capsule pill dances and animates above your outstretched hand with no apparent means of locomotion. Then, a borrowed ring literally hovers in the air, again with no visible means of support.

Clone Cards - Wild Card outdone! Several cards turn into a duplicate of a selected card. For the incredible finale, the entire deck is spread to show that every card now matches the selection!

Secret Slate - The performer is able to flawlessly pick out the business card the spectator has initialed or has drawn a picture on, no matter how much the face-down cards are mixed.

THE PURLOINED RING (Meir Yedid): A finger ring placed inside a purse frame, disappears. You will be fooled by the method!

RING-ON-ROPE TOSS (Doug Edwards): A large plastic ring is tossed towards the middle of the rope and penetrates it!

RING ON RIBBON (Marconick): A reputation maker. A finger ring placed in a jewel box vanishes and reappears on a tied ribbon!

ROPE, RING AND ROD (Jim Ryan): A finger ring is threaded on a rope, it vanishes and reappears on a pencil held by a spectator!

KARATE IT ON (Sam Schwartz): The ring is held away from the ends of the rope. A karate chop and instantly the ring is on the rope!

ON-OFF AGAIN (Oscar Weigle-Sol Stone): A finger ring and a pen are used. The ring penetrates on and off the pen. A solid impromptu routine!

COMBINATION LOCK & RING (Paul Hallas): A borrowed ring is placed on a combination lock, a spectator discovers the combination using a deck of playing cards!

FANTASTIC, EASY MAGIC TRICKS WITH MATCHES (TOOTHPICKS, GOLF TEES ETC.).

CONTENTS:

NOTHING-TO-DO MATCHES (George Blake and Ken de Courcy): A match is inserted in each fist of a spectator, one match head down and one match head up. When the spectator opens his hands the two matches are now both the same way up!

BACK, BACK AND RESTORED (Ken de Courcy): A match is broken into three pieces. Two pieces are dropped into the left hand and the head goes into the pocket. The left hand is opened and all three pieces are there. This is repeated. At the end, the match is restored!

THE TWO THIEVES (Anonymous): You tell a story of two thieves trying to steal chickens, while you are using matches. At the end the spectators will have a big surprise!

PENETRATING MATCHES (Martin Gardner): You show two matches, one in each hand. The matches seem to magically melt through one another!

MAGIC MATCHES (Joe Hustler): A card is covered by matches. One card is selected. You tip the card with the matches over and six matches are seen to reveal one card (say KH): The name of the selection!

TWO-LINE DIVINATION (Ken de Courcy & Murray): You divine the amount of matches left on the table while your back is turned!

MATCH-UP (Ron Batteridge): A box of matches and ten cards are shown. A number between 1 and 10 is freely selected by a spectator by removing matches from the box and the card at that number is shown to have been predicted on the box of matches!

THE THREE-PILE DIVINATION (Martin Gardner): While you are not looking, a spectator lays out three piles of matches. He shifts matches from one pile to another. Nevertheless, you know how many matches are left on the table!

MATCHED PREDICTION (Trevor Lewis): You place a box of matches in view. A spectator removes any amount of matches and this amount determines a card from the deck. That card was predicted by you!

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE (Werner Miller): You show three boxes of matches and a spectator picks one. It is the only full one, the other two are empty-or vice versa (no force)!

Performed by Aldo Colombini. THIS IS AN AMAZING ROUTINE IN THREE PHASES PERFORMED WITH A REGULAR DECK OF CARDS. MOREOVER, THE ROUTINE IS VERY EASY TO PERFORM. IT IS AN ACT IN ITSELF!

EFFECT:

1) The deck is shuffled and divided in half. A spectator reverses a card in one half. Both halves are placed side by side face down. You turn the top card of each half over dealing them above the halves. The dealing continues. All the pairs are different. When the spectator's card is reached, the card of the same color and value turns up in the other half!

2) The spectator now riffle shuffles the halves together (read that again). You hold the deck out of sight under the table (or in a bag), then with your sensitive fingertips, are able to produce at will, red and black cards, cards of each suit, then cards of certain values!

3) The remaining 26 cards are dealt into two piles of 13 cards each. The spectator takes either pile, leaving the other to you. You openly separate the cards into two piles, the spectator blindly separates his cards, following your lead. Both your cards and the spectator's are shown. All the cards have somehow been separated into reds and blacks! What a series of stunning effects!

An incredible collection of packet tricks!

PREDICTION GONE WILD (Cameron Francis): A great trick. A card is selected. You show four blank cards with different names of cards on them. All of a sudden all the cards have the name of the selection. At the end the selection vanishes from the deck and appears in the packet.

BOXING ACES (Aldo Colombini): An Ace-assembly that will have their jaws dropping. Four Aces vanish from packets of cards and reappear inside the card case.

GHOST FLIGHT (Peter Duffie): Eight double blank cards and four Queens are used. The Queens trapped between two blank cards vanish and reappear under a ‘cover.’ Great handling, an incredible effect.

OILS WELL THAT ENDS WELL (Stephen Tucker): A version of the classic “Oil and Queens” where at the end the four Queens vanish and leave four blank-faced cards.

TRIFLE (Aldo Colombini): Two sets of four-of-a-kind, say Kings, one blue-backed and one red-backed set. One of the four Kings is freely selected by the spectator who announces its suit. The same two Kings change place twice.

KLONDYKE CATO (Richard Vollmer): Amazing simple routine. A spectator shuffles a packet of cards and you reveal how many cards are reversed and the total of their values.

A TRICK FOR JACK PARKER (Paul Gordon): Two packets of red/black cards are used. A card is selected from one packet and it turns out to be the only reversed card. The other cards change into a Royal Flush.

RED BLUES (Karl Fulves): Great packet trick where a card is FREELY selected (say the AH) and it is seen to be the only red-backed card in the packet and the only Ace in the packet.

THE WHITECHAPEL SOLUTION (Ryan Matney): Great patter story about Jack the Ripper where the spectator finally finds the devious killer!

MINDS IN SESSION (Arthur Carter): Great principle to find a different colored card in a packet of seven that can be used for many other routines.

RENDEZVOUS (Nick Trost): Two decks are shuffled, by you and the spectator. You cut your deck into three packets and the spectator does the same. The top card of each packet match!

ULTRA COINCIDENCE (Martin Gardner): A double matching effect is achieved by the most economical means possible!

MIND OVER MATTER (Larry West): The performer first demonstrates the ability to 'mentally' influence a spectator to name a pre-chosen card. Then the performer magically causes the matching card to jump to the other deck and appear at a number chosen by another spectator!

THIRTEAM: Great routine and unique principle. Cards are shuffled and dealt in pairs. Each pair totals 13!

REMARKOBO: You predict a number reached apparently totally at random!

ENTERFORCE: You reveal a selection under what seems impossible conditions, with a previously written prediction!

FACEY: Cards are torn in halves. A freely selected card finds its matching half. This can be used with ESP cards as well!

NAME 6: This is a very clever routine in multiple phases that use a name of a spectator!

HUMSKIL: A very unique routine with a triple prediction climax that will floor your audiences!

ROYALEEZEE: You reveal FOUR freely selected cards. You will like the principle behind this routine and you will use it often in other effects of this kind!

ROYLE HOYLE: A truly powerful routine using the face cards (Kings, Queens and Jacks). It may be done with ESP cards as well!

22 IS IN: Cards are shuffled and dealt and you reveal two predictions which involve the number 22. Once again a principle that can be used in other effects!

The routines use subtle moves and principles rather than difficult sleight of hand to produce entertaining card effects that anyone can do. More important, no gimmicks, and no set-ups whatsoever. Grab an ordinary, even borrowed deck of cards and amaze your spectators with incredible card effects!

CONTENTS:

THAT'S NEAT (Paul Gordon): You and a spectator each take half of the deck and then a card from each half. You both place these cards reversed in the middle of the two piles and the two cards magically change places!

FULL SPEED ACE (Aldo Colombini): The Ace of the same suit of the selected card, turns out to be the actual selection and the Ace is found reversed in the middle of the deck!

MATCHED! (Robin Robertson): A freely selected card appears between two cards, one indicating the suit and the other the value. The effect is immediately repeated!

PARITY PREDICTION (Reinhard Müller): A prediction-card placed between two Jacks, turns out to be the actual selected card!

EIGHT BITES IS ENOUGH (Jack Avis): A THOUGHT OF card is revealed using just a packet of eight cards. Great routine!

DISCRE-PANZA (Aldo Colombini): A spectator FREELY selects a card. You have previously removed the three matching cards of the selections!

SLOW APPROACH (Aldo Colombini): Two freely selected cards placed between two Jacks vanish and reappear reversed in the middle of the deck!

In this volume, 4 routines are performed, brainstormed and improved:

1/ Mexican 3 Card Monte

Bebel shows and fully explains his version of the 3 card monte. This routine is explained into its inner details. Not only the techniques are explained, but each and every move is motivated to make it fluid, magical and flawless.

Jean-Pierre Vallarino describes a move from Marlo that is fairly unknown, yet that can be integrated into a 3 card monte routine.

2/ Card Control and switches

This chapter is dedicated to a technique that was originally used to control a card, and that has been transformed to become a visual card switch. Jean-Pierre Vallarino used this technique in his FISM act. Ultimately, you will be able to transform 4 random cards into 4 aces, but also being able to control the selected card as the spectator shuffle the deck. Very visual and practical!

Then, bebel shows his card switch on the table, allowing you to place any card on the table and transform it into any other card, whether you want to do it face up or face down.

3/ Bluff Pass

Both Jean-Pierre Vallarino and bebel use the bluff pass to perform a sandwich effect: You place two jokers on the table. A spectator selects a card, and with any move of any kind, the selected card is sandwiched between the jokers. In his version, bebel uses a deck with a different back to perform a similar effect.

4/ Ace Leader

PLEASE, NOTE THAT THERE IS NO EXPLANATION FOR THIS TRICK! Unfortunately, we forgot to record the explanation of this trick. However, the brainstorm session is amazing, and the performance is worth the look. beside, since it is a brainstorm session, lots of the explanations are included in the demonstration.

Ace leader is bebel and Vallarino's take on the Mc Donald Aces routine, in order to make it simple and direct. Once again, this is very visual and as clean as this routine can be.

Diminishing Sponge Balls by Magic Ian, originated back in 1979 and received 4 stars in Genii magazine. Frank Garcia acknowledged that it was one of the few new sponge moves he had seen in years, and Goshman himself loved the effect.

History was made September 2-6, 1982 in a filming studio in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, as the life and magic of Dai Vernon was permanently recorded for future generations. Inspired by Bill Larsen, the project was undertaken by Videonics, owned and operated by Hans Zahn. The co-hosts of the filming project were Michael Ammar, Gary Ouellet and Steve Freeman.

• Breast Pocket Coin Vanish—a great utility vanish that can be used on its own or as an addition to an existing routine.
• Coin Through Ring 1 and 2 —a coin is twisted into the middle of a handkerchief and a borrowed ring is theaded on, which is then magically removed. Two versions are taught with one suitable for performance in even a large venue!
• Tactile Coin Through Silk—a spectator pushes a coin straight through an ordinary handkerchief. A subtle and ingenious method makes this an incredibly clean and powerful piece of magic.
• Novel Coin Vanish—a coin, fairly folded into a handkerchief, instantly vanishes when the handkerchief is opened out. Two methods are taught with the second happening while the spectator holds the handkerchief!
• Buckley Bag Appearance—a coin visibly appears inside a folded handkerchief that was openly displayed.
• Rip-O—a coin, twisted into the middle of a handkerchief, is visibly cut out with a knife, yet the handkerchief emerges unharmed.
• Tenkai’s Magical Filtration—A beautiful piece of magic from one of magic’s legends. A coin vanishes and then audibly reappears in a folded handkerchief held by a spectator.
• Copper/Silver Extraction—Two coins—one copper, one silver—are twisted into a handkerchief. The copper coin is magically extracted through the hank and then replaced the same way. The silver coin is also extracted through the hank and then everything is examined. A classic remodeled with the Roth touch!
• The Original Vanishing Coin—you’ve heard of the oldest trick in the book? Well, this is it! Learn one of the world’s oldest—and best—ways to vanish a coin while the spectator is holding it!
• Coins Through Silk—David Roth’s version of an effect made popular by Michael Ammar. Coins pass mysteriously and visibly through a sheer scarf.

A spectator selects one of eight different designs, which proves to be the very one printed on the front of the board. The participant can stay seated in the audience - leaving the performer alone on stage at the finish, to accept all of the applause.

Perhaps the most intimate form of entertainment that can be presented in public. It requires a delicate interplay in order to achieve a balance between the charming and the disquieting. This is material designed for very small groups, or even working one - on - one. This video features a range of commercial Close - Up Mentalism. No pre - show work, no secret assistance; this is practical material for the solo performer, using subtle and unusual methods that are as fascinating as the effects they produce. You'll learn:

• Shape - Up (Previously Unrevealed) - One card has been removed from as ESP deck. A person is invited to deal through the rest of the pack, turning cards face - up one by one and stopping at any time. The stopped - at symbol is the same as on the card that was previously set aside.
• Changeling - A pleasingly simple routine using a handful of ordinary coins, in which the mentalist successfully predicts precisely how many coins will be selected by the spectator.
• Isolation - The participant chooses which of several unprepared magazines will be used. That is opened to a random page, from which a random word is noted while the performer's head is turned away. In a convincing telepathic display, the mentalist extracts the word from the person's mind
• Key To The Future - An amiable variation on the classic "Seven Keys to Baldpate" effect using an ungimmicked padlock and several keys, only one of which can open the lock. This time it is the spectator whose psychic abilities are tested. Will the working key be located - and will the performer know the outcome in advance?
• Symbalance (Previously Unrevealed) - A standard pack of ESP symbol cards is employed along with two participants. The mentalist divines the first person's thought - of design. He then discerns the second person's symbol with an offbeat demonstration of "tactile intuition.";
• Positive Negative - A lesson in spectator management in the form of an engaging bit of prognostic pantomime with a baffling payoff. Better yet, it's completely impromptu - you an do it with a moment's notice, using borrowed items.
• The Hawk - Another impossible card routine from the "Birds of Prey" series. Two spectators select and replace cards while the performer's back is turned. They also shuffle the deck. Nevertheless, the mentalist deals through the face - down pack and stops on one selection, then tops that by promptly naming the other.

It's done under what can be the most difficult conditions: performing for a medium - sized audience with no formal stage setting to focus attention. Sightlines are often poor, and people must be drawn into the experience even if they can't see everything clearly. Too, you may be working surrounded, so you'd better be sure there are no angle problems. And, as it's likely to be a social occasion filled with potential distractions, your material needs to be compelling from the very first moment: intriguing presentations that build to powerful conclusions. • Kurotsuke - (Previously Unrevealed) An ancient game from the imperial court of Japan is turned into a delightful routine of stand - up mentalism that lets several people get involved. And, best of all, it can be done entirely impromptu using only borrowed materials.
• The Mind's Eye Deck - A pack of some 40 design cards is used. Each one is different, and the deck is shuffled. While the performer's back is turned, a spectator removes a card. Without turning around, the mentalist starts describing the thought - of design, eventually drawing it on a pad of paper. It's as straightforward as that.
