A ten foot length of rope is displayed. Two volunteers from the audience are asked to participate.  The rope is placed around the waist of one volunteer while the other one holds one end of rope and magician holds the other.

“MAGICIAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURY” sign is held above the spectator heads.

But now the sign reads, “MAGICIAN N O T RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURY!”

A 12" silk handkerchief is tied around the middle of the ropes in front of spectator. At the count of 1-2-3 the rope is pulled straight through the volunteer's body with the silk still intact tied in front!

The rope can then be passed out for examination along with silk!
