The gimmick does what laymen and magicians alike will believe is impossible. Spelmann and Nardi goes in depth with their discussion (in the instructional DVD) why the Extractor works not purely from a mechanical point of view, but also from the psychological point of view. There's a small part in the discussion where Peter Nardi says he has shown this routine to any and all big name magicians he could meet in person just to see if they can even "come close" to the method... I don't remember the exact words, but if the top guys in the world of card magic can't catch it, chances are the laymen audiences don't stand a chance. PLEASE PLEASE BE SURE TO PRACTICE THE HANDLING AND THE PRESENTATION AND GIVE THE EFFECTS YOU PERFORM WITH THIS GIMMICK THE REACTION IT DESERVES! I tried this on my weekly gig at a restaurant and it rocks.
