The magician places five cards face down in the spectator's upturned palm, and keeps five cards for himself.  Each places the cards behind his back and selects one card unseen.  Completely FREE CHOICE.

The two selected cards are exchanged (still face down), and placed face up (still unknown) among the other face-down cards still behind the back of each person.  The cards are now brought out in front and the face-up cards match!  The other eight cards also match, but they are of a different suit and color than the selected cards!
