I can’t stop being amazed by Oh Snap. This is one of the greatest gimmick based effects I have ever encountered. The ingenuity of the simplicity involving the secret that makes it work is astonishing. If you’ve watched the teaser trailer and think you have the method figured out, you’re probably wrong. I have heard other people magicians ask questions about Oh Snap, and I am going to attempt to answer them here: What does it come with? It comes with a gimmick that you can customize to virtually any world currency and a DVD. How long is the dvd and what’s covered? The DVD is pretty short and covers how to convert the gimmick, care of the gimmick and performing the transformation from cards to dollar bills. Do you need a deck of cards to do this effect? No. Oh Snap comes with everything you need except the money. There is a transition involved FROM a normal deck of cards, but if you don’t have them on you, then you can perform Oh Snap without a ‘clean’ deck. Is it easy to fix if the gimmick breaks? Yes. If used carefully the gimmick should last a long time. If you pay attention to how the gimmick is constructed when you get it, you will be able to fix it if it breaks. Also, the main material that makes it work, pretty much every person on the planet has, so if it should break to a point where you need new materials, they are easily accessed. Does it look as good in real life as it does in the teaser trailer and is it practical to use? Yes, and then some. I find it to look even BETTER in person than on the trailer. You can’t say that about so many magic effects on the market today. The practicality factor is huge. You can pull this out of your pocket fully set up and do it instantly. So, there you go. The ‘wow’ factor of the real life-imitating-an-edited-video level of excitement around this effect makes it a must have if you want to make people’s jaws hit the ground in amazement. This is a great stand alone, walk around effect or a closer to card magic, but you shouldn’t open with it, as it’s just nearly impossible to follow up with something as eye-appealing as Oh Snap is.
