This is a standard pop-eyed popper deck, but the cards are cut diagonally. The suggested trick involves spectators holding the halves of the deck. Since the deck is oddly shaped, it is difficult to hold the cards reliably, and they are very easy to drop. In a spectator's hands, the risk of cards being dropped is significant.

If half of the deck gets dropped, it is difficult to recover--both in the moment and long-term. The diagonal cut is not perfectly consistent, so when the order of the cards gets scrambled, the deck becomes uneven--hence my 4 star rating.

To avoid spectators dropping the cards, I suggest the following:
Select two spectators. Remove the deck from the box and place the halves on the table face up. Spread both halves to show that all of the cards are different.
Place the halves face down in front of the two spectators. Ask them to each spread their half of the deck face down. Have each spectator to touch the back of a half-card from their own spread. Turn over the selected halves to reveal that they have chosen two halves of the same card.
